#HDH A beginning, to stop the end. Fractured with @ellen__cross

Welcome to another week of Hump Day Hook!

Where authors from all over the world share a little teaser of a piece of their work, whether published, or a WIP.

This week I will continue on from where we last left off, with the prologue of my WIP, Fractured. In this scene, Krogan sets in motion, a beginning, that will hopefully see a stop to the end. This work is unedited.

"We can all see the path that has been set. It is the end, a price each life will pay if we do not act. While we do not have the power to divert the disaster before us, we can deliver those who will.
"Join with me. Let our own blood repair that which is broken, before all life falls to pieces." A round of nods and determined expressions met his request.
Drawing on his shifter spirit, he focused on his life energy, pulling a single hair-fine filament from within his soul and into his awaiting hands. Tiona did the same, holding the golden spark of her thread in her small cupped palms. He guided her to slide her breathtakingly beautiful essence into his palm, to join with his own.
The threads swirled, Krogan's silver essence entwining itself against Tiona's gold. They writhed, rolled, until they blended into one. A bright flare of pure light, that heralded the starting spark of new life, blinded Krogan for an instant. The tiny new life felt warm against his palm, pulsing with a gentle energy, so fragile, yet bursting with promise, with hope.

Back in the swing with HDH, and WIP, Fractured Prologue. ellen__cross

After the changeover of my isp dragging on for a couple of weeks, I am now back online, and back in the swing with Hump Day Hook!

Each Wednesday, participating authors share a snippet of either a published, or WIP.

This week, I share more from the prologue of my WIP, Fractured, with you all.

He straightened and rolled his shoulders, a new resolve firm in his mind as he met the eye of each of his brothers, sisters, and their mates. While his siblings were each unique in their spirits and abilities, they were born of the same father—a god who apparently loved variety, yet cared little for the responsibilities left to him by his choices in bed partners. It didn't matter. They didn't see shifter, vampire, warlock, and more, as they looked toward each other...they saw family, an unbreakable bond that tied them to each other for eternity. And as it was their father's careless ways that had sowed the blackened seed that would create the root of destruction that unfolded in the reflection, it was an unspoken vow that they would deal with it.

#HDH deeper into Fractured prologue. @ellen__cross

Welcome to another Hump Day Hook!

This week I am showing a little more of the prologue of my WIP, Fractured. In this scene, Krogan is deciding what to do about the vision in the Well of all Tears.

Obeying the edict of the gods and simply letting this future come to pass...just the thought of doing so was unfathomable to both his mind and heart.  The only prevention was action. As he looked around the hall he knew, that as the offspring of a god, they all had to step forth and join in his efforts. While they might not be able to physically move in and interfere, there were ways they could give humanity a chance, indirectly.

#HDH - What does Krogan see in the Well of All Tears? - @ellen__cross

It's Hump Day Hook time, and for this week, we continue into a glimpse of the prologue of Fractured, my WIP, MM paranormal romance.

In this scene, we find out what Krogan and his gathered family see reflected in the waters of the Well of all Tears. It is a little longer than normal, but I felt it best to show the description in one go.

Men, women, children, and preter...life held little meaning, as brother turned on brother, friend on friend, and lover on lover...while their enemies united in strength. Gathered like rats from a fire, the remains of mankind huddled within the vision, scavenging through the leftovers of war, while famine and pestilence extended their reach and claimed what little remained of a once flourishing land.

The dregs of society, skin traders and peddlers of misery, ruled those unfortunate enough to be caught and enslaved—their lives little more than added currency for those who could pay for the enjoyment of their pain, their blood. With a fraction of the population left and a complete loss of humanity running rampant, Krogan knew what he was seeing was indeed the end of days, come to life in all its sickening glory.

#HDH dives deeper into Fractured. @ellen__cross

It's Wednesday, and you know what that means...another round of mid-week saving Hump Day Hooks!

This week we continue from last week, with more of the prologue from my WIP, Fractured, a MM paranormal romance.

Krogan's gaze swept around the great hall, so bleak and dark...as dark as the heaviness that weighed on the hearts of his gathered brothers, sisters, and their mates. Each wept, their souls crying out throughout the spiritual plane for the lives that would perish, if the world were to continue on the path it had been set upon.

#HDH takes a peek into Fractured, with @ellen__cross

After a small break to get over the flu, I am so happy to be back to celebrate another Hump Day Hook!

For those of you who are new to HDH, we are a group of authors, who each week share a small taste of our work with the world. This week, I share a little snippet of my WIP, Fractured, a MM paranormal romance that will be published through EXtasy Books in the near future.

I am sharing a beginning taste of the prologue with you all. It is a little on the long side, but these two paragraphs need to be put together, to set the scene. I hope you don't mind :)

Krogan peered into the Well of all Tears, his brow furrowing into deeply grooved lines that showed the true depth of his concern. His fingers gripped the gold gilt edging of the pool that lapped with a gentle ripple from the gathering moisture far above, falling as a single teardrop at a time into the shallow waters below. The reflected image shimmered, quivering in a motion that matched the unsettled trembling of his churning stomach.
Tiona wrapped her arm around his waist, weaving herself under his arm and against the breadth of his chest as she too peered into the waters, shivering as she watched the fragments of the future unfold before her. A tear slipped from the corner of her eye and traced down her cheek, sliding down her chin and joining those shed by the heavens, into the pool.

#HDH Summer Fun Author Giveaway bonus week with @ellen__cross

Welcome to the Summer Fun Author Giveaway Event, brought to you by the Hump Day Hook weekly bloghop!!

Not only will you find the usual excerpts we have all come to love and look forward to, each blog this week will be holding a giveaway, in celebration of all that is summer. To be in the running for my own giveaway this week, all you have to do is leave a comment. I will be giving away a backlist title of the winner's choice of one of my books to a random winner, and a $5 Amazon kindle gift card and  Holly's Healing keychain to the 10th and 20th visitors to leave a comment. Best of luck, everyone, and don't forget to click on the HDH banner above to visit more participating blogs, and enter more giveaways!!

What does summer mean to you? Is it one long sweat-fest, maybe the time of the year that you hibernate inside your air-conditioned house and hide away from the intense heat? Or do you grab that sunshine by the horns and show it who's boss?
Living "down under" where the sun shines almost all year around, we love our sunny days, love the heat, the sweat and the humidity. After all, they are the perfect excuse to strip off and dive into our amazingly clear blue waters. Who can complain with that? And living at the beach myself, I can tell you that the sight of our lifesavers in their tight cozzies and nothing else, is worth a little sweat, don't you think?
There is only one drawback to taking my five boys to the beach...and that is how much sand those boys can move when they all work together. When my kids want to build a castle, the moat ends up being big enough to hide in.  At least they spend the time before we leave to fill in all their excavations *grins*

And now for my excerpt. I have decided to finish off the scene we have been visiting the last couple of weeks, so this week's excerpt is slightly longer than the usual one paragraph. It is kind of fitting with this week's theme, though, considering that summer is also long.
In those who are new to my blog, this scene has seen the severely emotionally damaged and impotent, Dean, share his first kiss with Holly, while his adopted brother, Wade,  is there for support. This kiss was more than he bargained for, and his body surprised him with a whole world of unexpected reactions he was not prepared for...
Giving an abrupt nod, Dean picked himself up off the floor and started for the kitchen.
“But, Dean, you need to know that I want Wade kissing and touching me too. If you can’t handle the sight of him doing so, you need to tell me now,” she implored.
He gave a mumbled It’s okay before he practically ran for the door.
Wade gave a deep throaty chuckle, nuzzling further into Holly’s neck.
“You really affect him, baby. If we just stick to the plan, I think we’ll get through to him in no time.”
Holly had her doubts, though—some people never got over Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Dean had been suffering for so long now with it that she really didn’t even know if it was possible for him to recover. She kept her worries to herself, though. Wade believed in him, and she could do no less.

How does Dean feel about "that" kiss? #HDH with @ellen__cross

Welcome to another lifesaving edition of Hump Day Hook--the weekly blog that offers up a small teaser from the amazingly talented, participating authors for you to enjoy!

Don't forget to click the HDH banner to keep your mid-week relief going!

This week I will continue with Dean's first kiss--and other first bodily reactions--in Holly's Healing.
This scene is from Deans POV.

Wade was at her side, nuzzling and kissing her neck in nibbling bites. The sight stirred his belly further, a throbbing beat building within his gut low down. He could feel it—his cock was throbbing and starting to stir. The knowledge was enough to send Dean backward, landing on the polished timber flooring on his ass.
“Just a kiss…you said this was just a kiss!”
Holly opened her eyes, her heavy-lidded gaze drawing him in, the urge to gather her in his arms rising more urgently.
“It is. Wade just wanted a kiss too. Nothing more will happen today, or anytime soon. This is all up to you. I won’t push you into something you don’t want.”

It's all in the kiss. #HDH with @ellen__cross and Holly's Healing

Welcome to Hump Day Hook!

Don't forget to click on the banner to continue your journey and experience all that Hump Day Hook has to offer!

After my little break, I would like to jump right back in where we left off in Holly's Healing, my bestselling ménage romance. In this scene, Holly is giving Dean his first kiss.

She tasted so intoxicating, her breath sweet as she massaged her tongue against his in a softly undulating rhythm. He could almost believe she was making love to his mouth with the movement of her own. A soft sigh left her lips and her head tipped slightly to one side. Dean pulled back, his breath sawing in and out of his chest in great bellowing puffs as he looked down upon her.

I will continue this scene next week, but if you would like to be kept up to date with my new releases, competitions and specials, or exclusive excerpts offered no where else, I now offer a newsletter sign-up for those interested. The link is on the side bar to the top-left.

After you finish my little tasty tidbit, click on the Hump Day Hook Banner, to navigate to many more!

This week I share another sizzling temptation from my interracial ménage, Holly's Healing.
I don't think I need to set the scene with this one, it speaks for itself :)

A warm hand on his shoulder squeezed the tightly clenched muscles, making him realise just how stiffly he held his whole body. The reassurance that Wade was there with him lifted a huge weight off his chest. Relaxing his body, Dean leant in closer to Holly, wrapping his arms around her back as her tender kisses fuelled the fire within the pit of his stomach further. God, the feeling was unbelievable. How could a simple kiss stir such feeling within him? Was this what it was meant to feel like? Was this why teenagers around the world remained glued to each other’s faces constantly, regardless of who was watching?

Holly's Healing is available at EXtasy Books, and where all good ebooks are sold.

This week I am sharing another snippet from Holly's Healing.
In this scene, Dean is confronting Wade, over Holly.

What’s this thing you have going with Holly—do you want her to yourself? Am I in the way?"
Wade threw his head back, holding an arm across his stomach as peals of laughter filled the room. Wiping the back of a hand across his face, Wade shook his head. "Where on earth did you get an idea like that from? Sure I want her, all naked, wet, and moaning beneath me. But not without you. I know you want her too, Dean, so don’t even try and start that shit with me. She’s perfect for us, can’t you see that?"

Hump Day Hook gets down and dirty with more from Holly's Healing #HDH @ellen__cross

For my steamy teaser this week, we once again visit my ménage romance, Hollys' Healing

In this scene, Dean is tempted to his limits.

"You should smell her, bro. She smells so sweet and musky. I can’t wait to taste her, but I want you to first."
Wade captured Holly’s slim wrist and pulled it down to her glistening heat.
"Give him a taste, baby. Let him feel your honey on his tongue while I make you come."
Holly’s breath hitched. Without hesitation, she ran her fingers along her splayed sex, gathering moisture as she did so. She looked up at Dean, her fingers held out in offering to him.

#HDH Hump Day visits Cupid's Revenge with @ellen__cross

Welcome to this week's Hump Day Hook!

To keep rocking on with more hooks after you have finished here, click on the banner below

This week, I am diving deep into Cupid's Revenge, my m/m paranormal romance!

In this scene, Ethan is sensually teasing Liam while he watches, but refuses to let himself touch.

Ethan chuckled. “Pushy one, aren’t you?” He
lifted his hips, stabbing his steely length into his
slippery tight fist. Just knowing Liam was there
watching, hungering as he instructed him on how
to touch himself, made the pleasure all that more
intense. He was sure Liam was battling not to join
in. He could see the unbridled hunger just a hair
beneath the surface of the carefully controlled
mask Liam wore. Ethan would bet a whole year’s
worth of the comics he loved that that was all it
was…a mask. He’d bet that inside all that cold
bravado, Liam was a lost little boy crying out for
someone to touch him, not physically…but to
touch his soul…to make it feel for once in his life.

Hump Day Hook teaser with Holly's Healing and ellen__cross #HDH

Welcome to another weekly Hump Day Hook!

Each week, many talented authors share little teasing snippets from one of their pieces, whether a published book, or a WIP.
When you are finished with my teaser, why not click here and experience more of what is on offer!

This week, I am sharing a little from my interracial holiday menage, Holly's Healing.
In this scene, Holly has been rescued by Wade and Dean from an attack, and has just realised they are obviously not biological brothers.

Dean looked back at her, chuckling at her expression. He leant over and closed her mouth with the tip of one finger. "What’s the matter, Holly? Was it that I told you we’re brothers? You don’t have a problem with racial blending do you? Wade’s folks adopted me after I was taken from my dad when I was fourteen."
A problem? Is he kidding? This is like all my fantasies rolled into one!
Like coffee and cream, these men set her mouth watering at the very sight, and she never could resist a generous dash of cream in her coffee. One light, the other richly dark. The perfect combination.

#HDH Final for "Wolf Sanctuary", with @ellen_cross

Hump Day Hook is a weekly bloghop, participated in by many brilliant authors, who wish to freely share a teasing paragraph with you from something they have published, or are working on.
After you finish here, why not  pop on over and check out some of the other authors by clicking HERE?

This week I bring you the last snippet from a partial excerpt of "Wolf Sanctuary", my current WIP.
As we know from previous weeks, Reece and Sean find themselves out driving in the middle of the night, in the rain, and at the insistence of Reece's inner wolf. They have come upon a drenched woman walking along the side of the road and after passing out in Sean's arms, they have bundled her into their truck.

"In case you were wondering, she's as wet as she looks. I'm already soaked through." Sean's forehead creased as he reached up with the arm that wasn't wrapped around his bundle and pulled the blanket a little tighter, stopping when he tried to tuck the fabric around her hips.

"What the fuck?"

Reece turned on the interior light and watched as Sean ripped back the blanket, revealing a large prominent bulge hidden beneath and now exposed to their eyes. The bulge jerked beneath their stares.

Sean gulped. "Is that what I think it is?"

#HDH More of Wolf Sanctuary with Ellen Cross

Another week has flown by, and it's that time again...yep, it's Hump Day Hook time!
Hump Day Hook is a weekly blog hop, joined in by many very talented authors, who like me, want to share small tastes of their books and WIP's free!

Click HERE to visit more of the hops in this week's Hump Day Hook!

This week, I continue with the excerpt from my WIP, Wolf sanctuary, which will be available at EXtasy Books once finished.

This scene joins on with the past two weeks, where we see wolf shifter Reece, heading out in the middle of the night, in the rain, at the insistence of his inner wolf. His hybrid mate, Sean is with him. They've encountered a freezing and wet woman in the middle of the road, who has just passed out.

* * * *

"Damn, she's icy cold. It looks like your little inner debate with your wolf was for a reason, love. Let's get her into the truck and pump up the heat. There's a picnic rug behind the seat if you want to help me wrap her in it too."
Reece nodded, rushing the passenger side door of the truck open. Sean slid in, jostling the woman slightly until her head rested on his shoulder as he nodded for Reece to close the door. Climbing into his seat, Reece reached over the back and pulled out the rug Sean had mentioned. He shook it out as best he could in the confined space of the cab and wrapped it over the top of Sean, tucking in the edges so that the woman was fully covered apart from her small damp head. Leaning against Sean, she reminded him of a child with her petite size and small defined features. Her hair stuck to her face in dark, dripping clumps, as he leaned over and pulled the strands out of the way. Even in the dimply lit cab, her face almost glowed with a sickly pale pallor. His wolf chuffed in his mind, as if pleased it had gotten its way and was thrilled with the result. She was definitely what his beast had wanted...but why?

Find out what happens next, in next week's final look into my excerpt of Wolf Sanctuary!

#HDH Rocking the Hump Day Hook with Wolf Sanctuary!

First, I would like to congratulate Sarah Cass, for winning my copy of Holly's Healing, in last weeks HDH Giveaway week. Enjoy it, Sarah! :)

Hump Day Hook is a weekly blog hop, participated in by many very talented authors, who eagerly share small snippets of their work with you, free of charge! How good is that?
To see more of this week's hooks, go here

For my hook this week, I will be sharing a little more of Wolf Sanctuary, my WIP anthology story.
Last week, Reece and Sean  came across a woman in the middle of the road, at night, and in the rain...

Reece threw open his door, sliding out and around the front of the dark blue four-wheel drive before he could think it over. Sean joined him on the other side of the woman as she tilted her small angular face towards his. A shaky smile kicked up the sides of her pale lips as she reached out and snagged his open flannel shirt in her small frozen fists, drawing him closer as she peered desperately up at him. He wrapped his hands over hers, trying to instill a little warmth into the damp, chilled flesh, as he waited while she tried to speak. It took her a couple of tries, but when she could finally form the words, her voice sounded weak and raspy. "I'm here." Her eyes rolled back as her legs gave out, Sean diving to catch her from behind and swing her up into his arms, the backpack on her back and all. He swiftly carried her out of the headlights beam and to his side of the truck.
