Autism Awareness Bloghop - April 15th

As you can see from the banner above, April 2nd is Autism Awareness Day, and this year heralds it's seventh anniversary.

This year, as she has done so for the past three,  RJ Scott is hosting her April Autism Blog Hop, and I am so happy to have been included.

As with all participants,  I have an autism fact to share with you:

"Some people live with autism for their entire lives without ever getting a formal diagnosis"

I have to thank RJ for giving me this fact, as it is so close to the heart. My now fourteen year old has only recently been diagnosed with high functioning autism, after an EIGHT year battle to get him help. He had been branded as lazy, uncooperative, and just generally uninterested in even trying at school, by his teachers, who would simply report that he wasn't trying hard enough and was unwilling to learn, on his report cards.

It wasn't until he followed other boys out of school and truanted, that the school started to take notice, and finally approved the testing I had been begging for, and listened to the counsellor's cries for help.

Even with the results, the battle continues as he looks like a regular kid, just with a few strange quirks and zero social skills.  Add in his younger brother who has ADHD, and our life with two in the spectrum is never dull, but I wouldn't' change it for the world. They are my boys, and as the old saying goes "To  know them, is to love them", and the more awareness we can get out about those who fall under the Autistic spectrum, the more people will realise just how special they really are!

I would like to give away an eBook copy of my last book, Paws, Claws, and their Triple-F, which also highlights differences and acceptance. To win, simply comment and leave your email address. I will randomly pick a name on the 20th of this month. Perhaps you would like to share  your own story with autism, share a fact you have learnt during the hop? I would love to hear from you!

BLURB
Farron had been a bad boy...a playboy, who blamed his lack of connection to another, on Fate.  But Fate has a twisted sense of humour and a special place for those who damn her, as her bitch, and she had a spot all marked out with Farron’s name on it. Tasked with fixing Fate’s screw-ups and helping those who have missed their moment to connect with their soul-mate, the pain of knowing he will never have that for himself is almost more than he can bear. But he does so, with a smile for each couple he unites. That is until he meets an untouched little man who makes him want to curse fate all over again, Ben. No matter how much he wishes it wasn’t so, Ben isn’t for him, though. He’s destined for another, Mason.
Mason fled Tasmania like the devil was on his heels, and it was. Tasmanian devil shifters, that is. As the only submissive devil shifter born, he is driven away, smuggling himself in the boot of a car aboard a ferry to the mainland, to escape the constant physical abuse at the hands of other male devils, over territorial rights. Alone and destitute, his life hits rock bottom as each day his life seeps away a little more. When a gorgeous dingo shifter shows up claiming to be his Fairy Father with promises of bringing him to his mate, Mason could have cried. Not in joy, but in grief. It seems fate has screwed up yet again...as Mason’s time has just run out.

#MySexySaturday 13, Sizzles the weekend away with Holly's Healing and @ellen__cross

Welcome to week 13, of My Sexy Saturday, the weekly bloghop that allows authors to share either seven words, sentences, or paragraphs of either a WIP, or an already published book.

This week I am sharing a spicy little tidbit from Holly's Healing, my interracial ménage novella.

This sure wasn’t how Holly envisioned the day starting out.
First, Dean had pushed a bowl of bland breakfast cereal at her after she washed up and made her way to the kitchen table. He then fled the house muttering something about getting groceries before they ran out. She could have sworn he just couldn’t wait to get away from her, as if she carried some deadly infectious disease, or the very hounds of hell were hot on his heels.

Wade obviously thought the whole scene was amusing. Sitting back with his coffee cup cradled between his hands, he grinned as he watched his brother leave. His gaze then turned to her. Just the knowledge that he was watching her was unnerving. His eyes raked over her body, slowly caressing each and every inch. A shiver washed over her, tightening her nipples into sensitive peaks that rasped against the soft cotton of her sleep tank as she breathed. Wade’s eyes slid down her body to rest on those points. His smile deepened as he settled a little further into his chair. He stretched, allowing his legs to spread out further in front of him in a wide opened vee. Holly couldn’t help it. The movement of his legs parting as if in invitation for her to fill the gap drew her own gaze to the meeting point of those long powerful thighs. His worn jeans moulded lovingly to his contours, clearly outlining the large bulge at the apex of his thighs. The bulge twitched and grew as her eyes remained glued to the mouth-watering sight. Oh, what she wouldn’t give to be able to slide her hand beneath the zipper guarding that bulge to feel the heat beneath under her hand.

Wade gave a gentle cough, distracting her from her delicious ponderings. His eyebrow arched high on his forehead as he tilted his head and waited for her to look at his face.
“Do you like what you see, sweetness?”

Swallowing the lump that had formed in her throat, she bit her bottom lip between her teeth as she gave a slight nod. Wade’s smile dropped a little, yet his eyes narrowed, becoming more intense in their assessment of her as she fidgeted in her seat.
           * * * *
The slight pressing of her thighs against each other pleased him. He unsettled her, inflamed her passion. It was a positive sign.

“And would you like to touch what you see? Maybe even taste it?”

#HDH Summer Fun Author Giveaway bonus week with @ellen__cross

Welcome to the Summer Fun Author Giveaway Event, brought to you by the Hump Day Hook weekly bloghop!!

Not only will you find the usual excerpts we have all come to love and look forward to, each blog this week will be holding a giveaway, in celebration of all that is summer. To be in the running for my own giveaway this week, all you have to do is leave a comment. I will be giving away a backlist title of the winner's choice of one of my books to a random winner, and a $5 Amazon kindle gift card and  Holly's Healing keychain to the 10th and 20th visitors to leave a comment. Best of luck, everyone, and don't forget to click on the HDH banner above to visit more participating blogs, and enter more giveaways!!

What does summer mean to you? Is it one long sweat-fest, maybe the time of the year that you hibernate inside your air-conditioned house and hide away from the intense heat? Or do you grab that sunshine by the horns and show it who's boss?
Living "down under" where the sun shines almost all year around, we love our sunny days, love the heat, the sweat and the humidity. After all, they are the perfect excuse to strip off and dive into our amazingly clear blue waters. Who can complain with that? And living at the beach myself, I can tell you that the sight of our lifesavers in their tight cozzies and nothing else, is worth a little sweat, don't you think?
There is only one drawback to taking my five boys to the beach...and that is how much sand those boys can move when they all work together. When my kids want to build a castle, the moat ends up being big enough to hide in.  At least they spend the time before we leave to fill in all their excavations *grins*

And now for my excerpt. I have decided to finish off the scene we have been visiting the last couple of weeks, so this week's excerpt is slightly longer than the usual one paragraph. It is kind of fitting with this week's theme, though, considering that summer is also long.
In those who are new to my blog, this scene has seen the severely emotionally damaged and impotent, Dean, share his first kiss with Holly, while his adopted brother, Wade,  is there for support. This kiss was more than he bargained for, and his body surprised him with a whole world of unexpected reactions he was not prepared for...
Giving an abrupt nod, Dean picked himself up off the floor and started for the kitchen.
“But, Dean, you need to know that I want Wade kissing and touching me too. If you can’t handle the sight of him doing so, you need to tell me now,” she implored.
He gave a mumbled It’s okay before he practically ran for the door.
Wade gave a deep throaty chuckle, nuzzling further into Holly’s neck.
“You really affect him, baby. If we just stick to the plan, I think we’ll get through to him in no time.”
Holly had her doubts, though—some people never got over Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Dean had been suffering for so long now with it that she really didn’t even know if it was possible for him to recover. She kept her worries to herself, though. Wade believed in him, and she could do no less.

How does Dean feel about "that" kiss? #HDH with @ellen__cross

Welcome to another lifesaving edition of Hump Day Hook--the weekly blog that offers up a small teaser from the amazingly talented, participating authors for you to enjoy!

Don't forget to click the HDH banner to keep your mid-week relief going!

This week I will continue with Dean's first kiss--and other first bodily reactions--in Holly's Healing.
This scene is from Deans POV.

Wade was at her side, nuzzling and kissing her neck in nibbling bites. The sight stirred his belly further, a throbbing beat building within his gut low down. He could feel it—his cock was throbbing and starting to stir. The knowledge was enough to send Dean backward, landing on the polished timber flooring on his ass.
“Just a kiss…you said this was just a kiss!”
Holly opened her eyes, her heavy-lidded gaze drawing him in, the urge to gather her in his arms rising more urgently.
“It is. Wade just wanted a kiss too. Nothing more will happen today, or anytime soon. This is all up to you. I won’t push you into something you don’t want.”

It's all in the kiss. #HDH with @ellen__cross and Holly's Healing

Welcome to Hump Day Hook!

Don't forget to click on the banner to continue your journey and experience all that Hump Day Hook has to offer!

After my little break, I would like to jump right back in where we left off in Holly's Healing, my bestselling ménage romance. In this scene, Holly is giving Dean his first kiss.

She tasted so intoxicating, her breath sweet as she massaged her tongue against his in a softly undulating rhythm. He could almost believe she was making love to his mouth with the movement of her own. A soft sigh left her lips and her head tipped slightly to one side. Dean pulled back, his breath sawing in and out of his chest in great bellowing puffs as he looked down upon her.

I will continue this scene next week, but if you would like to be kept up to date with my new releases, competitions and specials, or exclusive excerpts offered no where else, I now offer a newsletter sign-up for those interested. The link is on the side bar to the top-left.

Why not join with me in sharing the small snippets on offer from the many extremely talented authors, who share with us each week?
After you finish my little tasty tidbit, click on the Hump Day Hook Banner, to navigate to many more!

This week I share another sizzling temptation from my interracial ménage, Holly's Healing.
I don't think I need to set the scene with this one, it speaks for itself :)

A warm hand on his shoulder squeezed the tightly clenched muscles, making him realise just how stiffly he held his whole body. The reassurance that Wade was there with him lifted a huge weight off his chest. Relaxing his body, Dean leant in closer to Holly, wrapping his arms around her back as her tender kisses fuelled the fire within the pit of his stomach further. God, the feeling was unbelievable. How could a simple kiss stir such feeling within him? Was this what it was meant to feel like? Was this why teenagers around the world remained glued to each other’s faces constantly, regardless of who was watching?

#HDH Dean confronts Wade in Holly's Healing with @ellen__cross

Guess what...yep, it's our favourite day of the week,
it's Hump Day Hook day!!

To continue with your mid-week rescue relief, click on the banner below.

This week I am sharing another snippet from Holly's Healing.
In this scene, Dean is confronting Wade, over Holly.

What’s this thing you have going with Holly—do you want her to yourself? Am I in the way?"
Wade threw his head back, holding an arm across his stomach as peals of laughter filled the room. Wiping the back of a hand across his face, Wade shook his head. "Where on earth did you get an idea like that from? Sure I want her, all naked, wet, and moaning beneath me. But not without you. I know you want her too, Dean, so don’t even try and start that shit with me. She’s perfect for us, can’t you see that?"

For my steamy teaser this week, we once again visit my ménage romance, Hollys' Healing

In this scene, Dean is tempted to his limits.

"You should smell her, bro. She smells so sweet and musky. I can’t wait to taste her, but I want you to first."
Wade captured Holly’s slim wrist and pulled it down to her glistening heat.
"Give him a taste, baby. Let him feel your honey on his tongue while I make you come."
Holly’s breath hitched. Without hesitation, she ran her fingers along her splayed sex, gathering moisture as she did so. She looked up at Dean, her fingers held out in offering to him.

#2 My Sexy Saturday with Holly's Healing, @ellen__cross #MySexySaturday

Welcome to the second week of My Sexy Saturday!
Click on the banner below, to check out more sexy little snippets, whether seven words, sentences, or paragraphs from other brilliant authors, all keen to share small tastes of their work with you, for free!

For my snippet today, I have chosen to add seven sentences from my bestselling ménage romance, Holly's Healing.

In this scene, Holly is taking her first taste of Wade.
His muscular contours, while firmly defined, were incredibly warm and soft beneath her seeking fingertips. The dusky covering of dark curly hair over the centre of his chest trailed off to a thin line leading down beneath the opening of his jeans. The hair tickled her palm as she sifted it through her fingers, mapping the planes of his body with her touch. Each inch she caressed pushed her own need higher, her panties moistening as she drew his unique and heady scent into her lungs. Like a drug, it rushed through her core, firing sensations along the way. She craved more, craved him in a way she had never felt in her life before. Her mind shut down to all but the most primal of needs, and by God she was going to get her fill before she awakened and found this had all been just a dream.

Hump Day Hook teaser with Holly's Healing and ellen__cross #HDH

Welcome to another weekly Hump Day Hook!

Each week, many talented authors share little teasing snippets from one of their pieces, whether a published book, or a WIP.
When you are finished with my teaser, why not click here and experience more of what is on offer!

This week, I am sharing a little from my interracial holiday menage, Holly's Healing.
In this scene, Holly has been rescued by Wade and Dean from an attack, and has just realised they are obviously not biological brothers.

Dean looked back at her, chuckling at her expression. He leant over and closed her mouth with the tip of one finger. "What’s the matter, Holly? Was it that I told you we’re brothers? You don’t have a problem with racial blending do you? Wade’s folks adopted me after I was taken from my dad when I was fourteen."
A problem? Is he kidding? This is like all my fantasies rolled into one!
Like coffee and cream, these men set her mouth watering at the very sight, and she never could resist a generous dash of cream in her coffee. One light, the other richly dark. The perfect combination.

The Next Big Thing Blog Tour!

1. What is the working title of your book?

Holly's Healing

Available December 2012 from EXtasy Books

2. Where did the idea come from for the book?

My husband has struggled his whole life with a disability. I have shared the pain, humiliation, and daily struggle he has battled through, to maintain a normal life. I wanted to write a story that showed how much a person's life could change all in the blink of an eye--that you should never take your good fortune for granted. And most of all, I wanted to express how love can break through any barrier...if just given the chance.

3. What genre does your book fall under?

Holly's Healing, is an Interracial Holiday Ménage Romance Novella.

4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Holly - Kate Beckinsale. She is not only very beautiful, but she has an inner strength and light, which makes her appear almost ethereal at times in the roles she plays.

Wade - Jason Momoa. The man oozes the strength and an almost arrogant attitude that Wade expresses to a T.

Dean - I actually modelled Dean after the image of Tyson Beckford. It only took one look at a picture someone posted on facebook of Tyson, and my mind was set. He had the perfect look for Dean.

5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

They're everything she has ever wanted. But to get them, she just has to do the near impossible first.

6. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

Holly's Healing Will be released by EXtasy Books in December 2012.

7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Once the idea too root and I started writing, the whole novella was written within two weeks. I normally take quite a lot longer to write a book, but the flow of this one seemed almost out of my hands. Once I started to type, time seemed to lose all meaning, and before I knew it, I had spent hours working on it without stopping.

8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

I know of no other like it. While there are a plethora of ménage romances on the market,  I know of no other that involve interracial siblings, or with a disability thrown into the mix.

9. Who or What inspired you to write this book?

My husband. His inner strength has both awed, and inspired me many times. Because his disability isn't visible, he has had to endure the extra burden of being judged by his appearance. Just because a person may seem whole and capable to the eye, does not mean that they truly are, within. On the flip side, a person who may seem completely incapable, may have more strength and ability than you know.

10. What else about your book might pique the reader's interest?

Throughout Holly's Healing, it is quite obvious straight away that Holly has a disability. An accident leaves her not only scarred and struggling, but her whole life is turned up-side down as a result. Her perfect life is left behind, as she learns to cope with her new daily life with her impediment as her only company. While her disability is physical, she still has enough spirit to give Wade and Dean a piece of her mind.

Dean on the other hand also has his own disability. His however is tightly confined within the recesses of his mind. Left living a shell of a life due to a childhood trauma that has left its mark on his mind, he cannot even bear to think of getting close to a woman without his brother's help.

Holly's Healing is the story of how Holly, Dean, and Wade overcome the barriers standing in the way of them all, and come out the other side completely different people.

Due to unforseen circumstances, all three of my follow on authors, have had to pull from the Blog Tour. While regrettable, that is just life. I wish them all the best as they sort through their busy lives :)
