For my first hook, I will share a small excerpt from my WIP, Krome's Command - The Vorn Invasion book one, which will be available later in the year from EXtasy Books.
Ben leant forward in his seat,
tipping back his bottle and swallowing half its contents in one long pull. He
wiped the back of his sleeve across his mouth, his lips curving into a small
smile as he turned to face Adam. "I say we pack our bags and head out
camping up at Moraine Park in the Rockies for a week or so. It's almost time for
our annual camping trip anyway. Jay can run his Wi-Fi from his phone if he
needs it, I have a ton of time off collected that I need to use before my boss
blows his stack and orders me to take it. And as for you," he elbowed
Adam, "is that the second or third job this month that you've gotten the
sack from?"
Adam groaned. "The second.
And it's not like it's my fault the creepy manager from the last one couldn't
keep his damn hands to himself. Do I really look like a boy for hire to you?"
Ben ran a cursory glance over
Adams attire, before grinning and nodding. "Yep."
Jay chuckled, and added,
"Not to be picky because skin-tight black jeans rock, and the highlighted
tips to your hair are a nice touch. But did you really have to buy that
shirt...and in pink?"
"Hey, the pink was half the
price of the white," Adam pointed out. "Besides, what's wrong with my
shirt?" He stood up and spread his hands out, spinning in a slow circle in
front of them.
Ben's jaw dropped. He swept his
gaze from Adam to Jay and back. "Is he freaking serious?" Jay nodded,
grinning like a Cheshire cat.
"For one, it's at least two
sizes too small. I can see your nipple rings trying to poke holes through the
material." Adam waved him off as he sat his beer down, turning to face Ben
and Jay. "Bah, that's nothing."
Ben continued. "For another,
it has cream filled Twink written on
the back...in glitter!"
"So what?" Adam replied
innocently, cocking his hip to one side and crossing his arms as he let a small
smile form. "The last two letters fell off in the first wash...so not my
fault!"
Ben just shook his head and threw
up his hands. "I give up."
Jay bent over laughing, holding his stomach as
he tried to gain a decent breath. "Always a good choice where Adam is
concerned," he kidded as he straightened and wiped the tears from his eyes
with the palm of his hand, before cracking the top on his own beer.
