The Next Big Thing Blog Tour!

1. What is the working title of your book?

Holly's Healing

Available December 2012 from EXtasy Books

2. Where did the idea come from for the book?

My husband has struggled his whole life with a disability. I have shared the pain, humiliation, and daily struggle he has battled through, to maintain a normal life. I wanted to write a story that showed how much a person's life could change all in the blink of an eye--that you should never take your good fortune for granted. And most of all, I wanted to express how love can break through any barrier...if just given the chance.

3. What genre does your book fall under?

Holly's Healing, is an Interracial Holiday Ménage Romance Novella.

4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Holly - Kate Beckinsale. She is not only very beautiful, but she has an inner strength and light, which makes her appear almost ethereal at times in the roles she plays.

Wade - Jason Momoa. The man oozes the strength and an almost arrogant attitude that Wade expresses to a T.

Dean - I actually modelled Dean after the image of Tyson Beckford. It only took one look at a picture someone posted on facebook of Tyson, and my mind was set. He had the perfect look for Dean.

5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

They're everything she has ever wanted. But to get them, she just has to do the near impossible first.

6. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

Holly's Healing Will be released by EXtasy Books in December 2012.

7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Once the idea too root and I started writing, the whole novella was written within two weeks. I normally take quite a lot longer to write a book, but the flow of this one seemed almost out of my hands. Once I started to type, time seemed to lose all meaning, and before I knew it, I had spent hours working on it without stopping.

8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

I know of no other like it. While there are a plethora of ménage romances on the market,  I know of no other that involve interracial siblings, or with a disability thrown into the mix.

9. Who or What inspired you to write this book?

My husband. His inner strength has both awed, and inspired me many times. Because his disability isn't visible, he has had to endure the extra burden of being judged by his appearance. Just because a person may seem whole and capable to the eye, does not mean that they truly are, within. On the flip side, a person who may seem completely incapable, may have more strength and ability than you know.

10. What else about your book might pique the reader's interest?

Throughout Holly's Healing, it is quite obvious straight away that Holly has a disability. An accident leaves her not only scarred and struggling, but her whole life is turned up-side down as a result. Her perfect life is left behind, as she learns to cope with her new daily life with her impediment as her only company. While her disability is physical, she still has enough spirit to give Wade and Dean a piece of her mind.

Dean on the other hand also has his own disability. His however is tightly confined within the recesses of his mind. Left living a shell of a life due to a childhood trauma that has left its mark on his mind, he cannot even bear to think of getting close to a woman without his brother's help.

Holly's Healing is the story of how Holly, Dean, and Wade overcome the barriers standing in the way of them all, and come out the other side completely different people.

Due to unforseen circumstances, all three of my follow on authors, have had to pull from the Blog Tour. While regrettable, that is just life. I wish them all the best as they sort through their busy lives :)

  1. While I am not into menage, the story interests me as I also know about disabilities and how people feel about them.
