eXtasy Advent Calendar, Day 6 with @ellen__cross

Thank you Beany for allowing me to come play during your blog hop *looks at all the shiny things*.

As some of you know, I come from down under in Australia, living in a small beachside town in north-eastern NSW. Our Christmases have always been blistering hot, and since I was a small child, the holiday season signalled the yearly trek to the beach for a caravanning holiday.

Now that I am grown and have a family of my own, those trips are long in the past, but as we live at the beach, we still spend a great majority of our time cooling off any way we can. And who can blame me, check out this view!!

Now, you may think to yourself, "How awesome is that?" well, in my household at least, the Christmas holiday season is the time to stock up on band-aids, panadol, antiseptic lotion, sunscreen, and insect repellant. That's right....the holidays mean arming myself until my bathroom cabinet almost looks like a pharmacy and I carry a first aid kit with me everywhere. And for good reason. With five boys, each holiday season see's at least one person in my family ending up at the E.R needing stitches, x-rays, or so sunburnt they make a lobster look pale. So, while you enjoy your festive season making snowmen, rugging up and carrying a never-ending  supply of tissues for those endlessly dripping noses, think of us Aussie mums who are making great impersonations of boy scouts with out motto, be prepared for anything!

This next pic looks so innocent and cute, right? My youngest needed six stitches to his thigh from a sharp edge on this seaside rock pool the year before last.

And this lovely mysterious allergic reaction happened the last holidays. Those spotches spread all over his chest and back, too. lol.

For my giveaway, I am offering the choice of two books.
Holly's Healing is a MFM contemporary romance, while Cole in his Stocking is a MM paranormal romance.

To go into the draw for one of these Christmas stories, simply let me know what war stories you have of holiday's past, to go into the draw. One lucky commentator will be randomly picked.  Best of luck everyone, and a safe and enjoyable festive season to you all!!

Today's word to collect is:
Don't forget to check back at the The Book Carousel on Facebook tomorrow, to find out where to go for tomorrow's word :)

Meet-The-Character Blog Hop

The lovely Beany Sparks has prodded me into breathing a little new life back in my blog, by joining her in the Meet-The-Character Blog Hop, which was created by Renae Kaye and Meredith Shayne *waves at both*

So, let's get right into it!

What is the name of your character?

I have chosen Morgan, the main character of my latest book, Shifting the Veil. Morgan is not only a merman, but he is also one of the guardians of the Preternatural Rescue Centre.

When and where is the story set?

The story is set in modern day, in the paranormal populated city of Praeter.

What should we know about him?

Morgan is a gentle soul, despite his impulsive nature. He has a high sex drive, which has caused him no end of trouble around the bunker with the other guardians finding mates and flooding the place with their pheromones. Of course, the fact that the bunker isn't soundproofed hasn't helped *grins*
He is determined yet considerate in his attempts to win over his mates (yes, he has two. Seems fate knew with a libido like his, he needed more than one mate to keep up!).

What is the main conflict?  What won’t he talk about?  What messes up his life?

Morgan tends to leap before thinking...literally. He jumps through an enemy portal without a thought, and without backup, leaving him stranded across the veil in enemy territory, following a pull he cannot ignore. Things  get worse when he finds his already bonded mates, and discovers than while Ridley, his dwarf rabbit shifter mate, is more than happy to explore what is between them, Owen, his second mate and otter shifter, wants nothing to do with him. In fact, Owen  would rather Morgan leave both he and Ridley alone.

What is the personal goal of the character? Is there a working title for this novel, and can we read more about it?

Morgan has always kept the safety of others his main concern. When he discovers the two small caged shifters, another larger shifter imprisoned beside them, he decides then to take them all.
The title for Morgan's story is: Shifting the Veil

BLURB: Jumping through a Mage portal on some sort of instinctual autopilot probably hadn't been the best decision of Morgan’s life, but it did lead him to two pieces of his soul, trapped in not only a cage, but also their animal forms.     Owen and Ridley never thought they'd be free again, living a life of captivity and pain, until a sexy Guardian breaks them out and offers them forever.     While Ridley hungers for Morgan, Owen just wishes the mate-stealing merman would walk away and forget about them both. He may not have to worry about his future for long, though. It's Halloween, and the veil is once again at its weakest. Denzel has failed to break through before, but this time, he has a secret weapon…

When can we expect the book to be published or when was it published?

Shifting the Veil was published on the 15th of October, 2014 with eXtasy Books. It is also available at Amazon, at the links below.

Unfortunately, I have just been recovering from a prolonged illness, and have not been able to gather others to follow on from me, so I will pass the invitation on to anyone who might like to continue on and enlighten others on your characters, to please do so :)

Autism Awareness Bloghop - April 15th

As you can see from the banner above, April 2nd is Autism Awareness Day, and this year heralds it's seventh anniversary.

This year, as she has done so for the past three,  RJ Scott is hosting her April Autism Blog Hop, and I am so happy to have been included.

As with all participants,  I have an autism fact to share with you:

"Some people live with autism for their entire lives without ever getting a formal diagnosis"

I have to thank RJ for giving me this fact, as it is so close to the heart. My now fourteen year old has only recently been diagnosed with high functioning autism, after an EIGHT year battle to get him help. He had been branded as lazy, uncooperative, and just generally uninterested in even trying at school, by his teachers, who would simply report that he wasn't trying hard enough and was unwilling to learn, on his report cards.

It wasn't until he followed other boys out of school and truanted, that the school started to take notice, and finally approved the testing I had been begging for, and listened to the counsellor's cries for help.

Even with the results, the battle continues as he looks like a regular kid, just with a few strange quirks and zero social skills.  Add in his younger brother who has ADHD, and our life with two in the spectrum is never dull, but I wouldn't' change it for the world. They are my boys, and as the old saying goes "To  know them, is to love them", and the more awareness we can get out about those who fall under the Autistic spectrum, the more people will realise just how special they really are!

I would like to give away an eBook copy of my last book, Paws, Claws, and their Triple-F, which also highlights differences and acceptance. To win, simply comment and leave your email address. I will randomly pick a name on the 20th of this month. Perhaps you would like to share  your own story with autism, share a fact you have learnt during the hop? I would love to hear from you!

BLURB
Farron had been a bad boy...a playboy, who blamed his lack of connection to another, on Fate.  But Fate has a twisted sense of humour and a special place for those who damn her, as her bitch, and she had a spot all marked out with Farron’s name on it. Tasked with fixing Fate’s screw-ups and helping those who have missed their moment to connect with their soul-mate, the pain of knowing he will never have that for himself is almost more than he can bear. But he does so, with a smile for each couple he unites. That is until he meets an untouched little man who makes him want to curse fate all over again, Ben. No matter how much he wishes it wasn’t so, Ben isn’t for him, though. He’s destined for another, Mason.
Mason fled Tasmania like the devil was on his heels, and it was. Tasmanian devil shifters, that is. As the only submissive devil shifter born, he is driven away, smuggling himself in the boot of a car aboard a ferry to the mainland, to escape the constant physical abuse at the hands of other male devils, over territorial rights. Alone and destitute, his life hits rock bottom as each day his life seeps away a little more. When a gorgeous dingo shifter shows up claiming to be his Fairy Father with promises of bringing him to his mate, Mason could have cried. Not in joy, but in grief. It seems fate has screwed up yet again...as Mason’s time has just run out.

My Writing Process Blog Hop - 31st March - @ellen__cross

Well, I am sitting here, so I guess you know what that means. Yes, I've been kidnapped by the blog hop fairies and asked to sit and answer all their questions. Mind you, it would be nice if they had coaxed me with chocolate, and not their whips and paddles! Who knew the little sprites could spank so hard, or love it so much! I guess the only sensible thing to do is to sit quietly and tell them whatever they want to know, before they follow through with their threat to erotically torture the answers they want out of my friends, Khul Waters, Evi, and Beany...oops! Too late! A couple of them just headed off rope and duct tape 0.o  RUN GUYS!!!!! Oh dear, they weren't fast enough...

Perhaps if answer the questions, they might not go so hard on them?

1) What am I working on?

Now, and for the rest of this year, I am heads down, bum up--such a lovely position!--writing further additions to the Preternatural Rescue Centre series. Fractured is my latest WIP, and will be released on the 15th of April, at eXtasy Books, followed by Betrayed on the 15th of May, and so on, for the rest of the year.

 Prologue Excerpt:
Krogan peered into the Well of all Tears, his brow furrowing into deeply grooved lines that showed the true depth of his concern. His fingers gripped the gold gilt edging of the pool that lapped with a gentle ripple from the gathering moisture far above, falling as a single teardrop at a time into the shallow waters below. The reflected image shimmered, quivering in a motion that matched the unsettled trembling of his churning stomach.

Tiona—the other half of his heart— wrapped her arm around his waist, weaving herself under his arm and against the breadth of his chest as she too peered into the waters, shivering as she watched the fragments of the future unfold before her. A tear slipped from the corner of her eye and traced down her cheek, sliding down her chin and joining those shed by the heavens, into the pool.

Krogan's gaze swept around the great hall, so bleak and dark...as dark as the heaviness that weighed on the hearts of his gathered brothers, sisters, and their mates. Each wept, their souls crying out throughout the spiritual plane for the lives that would perish, if the world were to continue on the path it had been set upon.

Men, women, children, and preter...life held little meaning, as brother turned on brother, friend on friend, and lover on lover...while their enemies united in strength. Gathered like rats from a fire, the remains of mankind huddled within the vision, scavenging through the leftovers of war, while famine and pestilence extended their reach and claimed what little remained of a once flourishing land.

The dregs of society, skin traders and peddlers of misery, ruled those unfortunate enough to be captured and enslaved—their lives little more than added currency for those who could pay for the enjoyment of their pain, their blood.

With a fraction of the population left and a complete loss of humanity running rampant, Krogan knew what he was seeing was indeed the end of days, come to life in all its sickening glory.

Obeying the edict of the gods and simply letting this future come to pass...just the thought of doing so was unfathomable to both his mind and heart. The only prevention was action. As he looked around the hall, he knew that as the offspring of a god, they all had to step forth and join in his efforts. While they might not be able to physically move in and interfere, there were ways they could give humanity a chance, indirectly.

He straightened and rolled his shoulders, a new resolve firm in his mind as he met the eye of each of his brothers, sisters, and their mates. While his siblings were each unique in their spirits and abilities, they were born of the same father—a god who apparently loved variety, yet cared little for the responsibilities left to him by his choices in bed partners. It didn't matter. They didn't see shifter, vampire, warlock, and more, as they looked toward each other...they saw family, an unbreakable bond that tied them to each other for eternity. It was their father's careless ways—that had sowed the blackened seed and created the root of destruction that unfolded before them—so they would deal with it.

"We can all see the path that has been set. It is the end, the price each life will pay if we do not act. While we do not have the power to divert the disaster before us, we can deliver those who will.

"Join with me. Let our own blood repair that which is broken, before all life falls to pieces." A round of nods and determined expressions met his request.

Drawing on his shifter spirit, he focused on his life energy, pulling a single thin filament from within his soul and into his awaiting hands. Tiona did the same, holding the golden spark of her thread in her small, cupped palms. He guided her to slide her breathtakingly beautiful essence into his palm, to join with his own.

The threads swirled, Krogan's silver essence entwining itself against Tiona's gold. They writhed, rolled, until they blended into one. A bright flare of pure light, that heralded the starting spark of new life, blinded Krogan for an instant. The tiny new life felt warm against his skin, pulsing with a gentle energy, so fragile, yet bursting with promise, with hope.

He turned to his brothers and sisters, smiling at the rainbow of colours nestled safely within the hands of each new father or mother. They turned to the well, joining voices as they murmured the incantation that opened the veil between earth and their own higher plane of existence. The veil parted with a slight swooshing sound, and the men and women farewelled their offspring, before releasing them through the parting in the veil with hearts heavy, yet happy at the same time.

Their children would find a safe haven among the wombs of the worthy, those who would protect the new life with their own. They would grow, unaware of the heavy weight of responsibility that awaited them until each child's true spirit awoke to their destiny when the time arrived to act. Until then, Krogan and his siblings would watch, and wait...

 2) How does my work differ from others of its genre?

I love the underdog in a story, those characters who find they are unworthy of love, or unlovable. You will find one in each story I write, as they find the love they never thought they would, and overcome all odds to claim it and keep it for their own.

3) Why do I write what I do

I have always had my head in the clouds, a daydreamer even as a small child. Being the much younger and only female sibling, I hid away and resorted to my books for companionship. It was only a natural progression that I start writing those stories, and when I won 1st place in a writing competition at only 9, it encouraged me to keep going.

4) How does your writing process work?

Oh, now that is a hard one, but there are similarities in all stories that I write.

Firstly, I will get hit with an idea. Sometimes a photo triggers it, sometimes a song, other times a feeling. Whatever it is, when the idea hits you will find me diving for a notepad and pen, or jotting down details onto my phone, for later retrieval.

The idea will usually sit until I have time, but often they demand I act--also why I have a WIP folder stuffed full of partially written stories!

While some books are a breeze, almost writing themselves, others truly are a labour of love, and the dreaded writers block hits with almost every one, at some point in the story. It took me a couple of books, but I soon realized that when I become blocked, the only real solution is to stop stressing over that point in the story, and to place a mark in the manuscript so I can go back to that point in time, and to move on. Some stories become almost like a jigsaw puzzle.

Okay, I think I have appeased the fairies. Well, perhaps, bored them to bits might be the more accurate term. They are leaving, evil glints in their eyes and their handy dandy notebook of questions in hand. Perhaps I should warn Khul, Evi and Beany that they are in for? Nah...let's just head on over and see how they survive the experience!

Khul Waters:  I am a 54-year-old Australian. I write to express the joy I find in life. I began with short stories and poetry that mostly seemed to focus on one theme—the nature of love between men and women. Specifically, I am intrigued by the nature of Dom/submissive relationships. Not the stereotypical leather and whips type, but the need for many men to take a dominating role in lovemaking and for many women to take a submissive role. My present stories feature this pre-occupation.

Evi Asher: Evi is a die-hard romantic, who firmly believes in happy endings, and loves all things paranormal. She lives in South Africa, with her (very patient) husband, two children, and too many pets, including a cockatiel who loves to sit on her desk, and chew the pink rhinestones off Evi’s mouse while she’s trying to write.

Beany Sparks: Beany Sparks lives in Western Australia. She first started reading romance novels in 2008, but it wasn't until January 2010 when her Kindle got delivered (which she had brought herself on Christmas Day 2009) that the world of erotic romance opened its doors to her, and she hasn't looked back.
Since English was never her strong subject at school she never expected to write a story, let alone try to get it published. With suggestions and support from friends, her muse—“affectionately" known as PITA—was finally able to break free, and in January 2014 her first story was written. Since she can’t put PITA back in his box—she's tried!—Beany has decided to give in and team up with him.

Together they’ve made plans to write both MF and MM stories. Why? Because love isnt gender specific, love is love.

#MSS 18 Delta Blues upcoming release, with @ellen__cross

Welcome to week 18 of My Sexy Saturday!

The blog hop that shares seven words, sentences, or paragraphs of an authors work, with the world!

This week I am sharing the first seven sentences of my new upcoming  Halloween release, Delta Blues.

Grey watched the movements of the little shifter, dancing on stage. The way his narrow hips swirled, his pale yet smoothly skinned buttocks clenching slightly as he swung around the slender silver pole he clung to, held Grey entranced. Even the dainty little toes the wolf pointed as he wrapped a leg around the pole and leant—arching his back at a near impossible angle—made his mouth water. The cheap and nasty decorations draped around the place, for the upcoming Halloween celebrations, didn't detract from the shifter one little bit. In fact, the gaudy fake cobwebs, spiders, and skeletons hanging from the edges of the stage, only highlighted his beauty. Like a precious gem nestled against a background of tacky trinkets...he shone.
The team members by his side whooped and hollered encouragement as they watched on, enjoying the show the small man gave. Lawson dug his elbow into Grey's ribs as he whistled, while Boson—Bo to his friends—fist pumped the air and bounced on his seat.

This week I am diving in to Holly's Healing once more, for another glimpse of the heat brewing between Holly, and Wade.

After finishing what she needed, Holly let Dean carry her back out to the lounge room and give her only one pain pill this time. Propped up and surrounded by cushions, she looked on as the pair of men rushed around preparing her breakfast. It would have almost seemed like a dream come true, if it weren’t for the nagging fact that she just didn’t fit in. While she could kid herself that everything was okay, her conscience just wouldn’t let her relax while she was taking over their house and lives like this. Calling out and hoping that they could hear her, she was determined to make them listen.

“Dean, Wade. After breakfast, do you think you could take me back home? I can’t stay here like this—it’s not fair to you both. Now if you can just take me home I would be very grateful. Or, if you’re too busy, just let me use your phone and I’ll call a cab.”

Wade poked his head around the corner, a blank look on his face as he replied. “Sorry, no can do, sweetheart. I need to get started on the designs I have backed up for my boss’s tattoo shop, and won’t have time all day to drive you. I noticed last night the brakes in our car were a bit dodgy, so I’m having the guys at our local garage pick it up this morning to get checked out. We don’t have a home phone, and don’t believe in it. When I’m home, I don’t want to be disturbed.” His leery grin as he winked let her know exactly what he didn’t want to get disturbed doing.

“So how do you propose I get home then?”
He shrugged. “You don’t. You stay here like a good little girl and heal up. Dean has a whole stack of corny romantic comedy’s he’s been dying to watch, so I guess you can sit back and enjoy his company while I work in my studio.”

Her anger went from simmering to ballistic in an instant. Gripping one of the cushions, she took aim and pegged it straight at Wade’s head, nailing him right in the kisser.

“You’re deliberately making it so I can’t leave. Aren’t you?”
Wade chuckled as he picked up the cushion. Stalking over to her slowly, he bent over and replaced the cushion. His eyes never left hers as he straightened back up. There wasn’t a hint of humour on his face as he kept his intense gaze locked to hers.

“Never start something you can’t finish with me, Holly. Next time I might decide to show you exactly how I like to play.”
“Stupid sexy men!” Holly muttered under her breath as he quietly turned to leave.

BLURB

Twenty-three year old Holly Reece had it all. A great job, a new car and house, and fantastic friends. All of that ended in a night she just can’t forget. Left bearing the scars from someone else’s stupidity, Holly is all alone in a world that would just rather forget she even exists.

Wade has watched his adopted brother, Dean, battle his own demons for years. Nothing he has done has helped Dean get over his inability to be intimate with a woman.

When they stumble upon a young disabled woman being attacked, Wade thinks he might just have found Dean’s cure, and a woman who can love them both. Now the only question he has is…how does he stop Dean from running scared long enough to try?

#MySexySaturday - Bringing sexy back, with @ellen__cross

Welcome to another, My Sexy Saturday!
This week has been a doozy here, and I don't know about you all, but boy am I glad it's the weekend!
As usual, click on the MSS banner below, to visit more blogs, and enjoy everything they have to offer!

This week I am sharing seven paragraphs from my MM paranormal romance, Cupid's Revenge.
In this scene, Ethan has asked Lillah--his archangel guide--who his partner is for his Valentine's Day assignment.

“Who is it? I hope they are better than last year. No offence, but bunking with that old man was bad. He kept his teeth in a glass by the bed, slept in jocks with holes in them, and the prunes he insisted on eating with each meal gave him the worst gas.” He scrunched up his face and waved a hand in front of his nose. “I tried to tell him that if he lay off the prunes, he would stop blowing the ass out of his jocks, but he just grumbled about the ungrateful youth of today, and hit me over the head with his walking stick.”

Lillah snorted. “Oh Mr. Cromwell was a tough old cookie all right. But he hid a heart as big as the Grand Canyon. And you already know your partner. In fact...” She gave Liam’s crotch a pointed look, “I would say you know him fairly well.”

Ethan gave a whoop, jumping up in his chair and bouncing up and down. “Can we get matching costumes?”

“Oh hell no!” Liam flew to his feet and stepped up to Lillah. “You are not pairing me with him. Not only does his mouth never seem to shut up, but I am not wearing some damn costume. No way, no how will you ever get me into a pair of tights!”

“Spoilsport,” Ethan shot back. He poked his tongue out at Liam and glared. “For your information, Captain Boring, you don’t deserve to wear a costume.”

“Thank Christ for that!” Lillah pulled back a dainty foot and nailed Liam right in the shin hard.
“Ow! What was that for?”
“Blaspheming,” she replied innocently.

Rubbing his bruised leg with his palm, Liam gave her a dirty look. “I really should put you over my knee and give you a spanking.”
She just raised an eyebrow at him and without missing a beat, replied, “Just try it. Getting spanked is Ethan’s thing, not mine.”

Blurb
When Heaven bungles their paperwork and recruits the wrong guy as a cupid, who will stop his rampage of revenge?

Ever felt that instant spark when you meet someone you have never seen before? That shot of electricity at the first touch? Or what about an overwhelming sense of déjà vu at a mere glance?
No, it’s not love at first sight, but instead it’s the work of a cupid.
Cupids aren’t angels, or the stereotypical cute little cherubs wearing a loincloth and wielding a bow loaded with heart-tipped arrows. Cupids are actually humans, recruited by Heaven for their overwhelming surplus of love within their heart, and gifted with the ability to share a small touch of that love with others—unseen by the human eye as they bring soul-mates together.
But what happens when someone upstairs gets their paperwork mixed up and recruits the wrong person? What happens when the person they recruit has no overflowing amount of love…in
fact, they have no love at all within their heart? Liam is so sick and tired of all the hearts and flowers shit every Valentine’s Day. The build-up to the day…irritating, the actual event…torture.
Just for once, he would love to get away from the whole experience. Fate on the other hand has a very sarcastic approach to his plea. An accident at the Heavenly bookkeeping department sees Liam enlisted into the ranks of Creating Unlimited Possibilities Into Destiny…or CUPID for short. Unable to get a single person to listen to his protests—and teamed with a guy who might actually be cute if he just stopped acting like a kid—he is told to choose his method for deliverance of his love. Liam lets his pissed off attitude choose for him, and revenge on the other cupids becomes his only mission.
This Valentine’s Day, Liam is hunting them down.

#MySexySaturday sneak peaks Fractured, WIP by @ellen__cross

Welcome to another My Sexy Saturday, the weekly blog hop that kick starts your weekend with either 7 words, sentences, or paragraphs of either a published, or WIP from the participating talented authors.

Don't forget to click on the M.S.S Banner to keep following other amazing authors when you finish sampling my offering for this week.

This week I am sharing the very first seven sentences of my WIP MM paranormal romance, Fractured, which will be published later in the year with EXtasy Books.

Davis didn't need to see the small, poorly-hidden visitor, to know he was there. He could feel the young man's brilliant azure eyes watching him from a mile off, and didn't like it one bit.
In the whole eighteen months since he and his brethren had been called forth and founded the Preternatural Rescue Centre, he had felt that same unnerving gaze watching them countless times.
He didn't know what the young man wanted, and he certainly never came close enough to ask—fleeing like the very hounds of hell were on his heels anytime anyone so much as looked his way—but there seemed to be an almost desperate quality to the way he watched on intently night after night, then disappearing come dawn.
From the little Davis could see of the thickly bundled figure, he appeared to be little more than a kid, early twenties at the most. The pale, angular face that peeked from beneath the layers of dark cloth he was wrapped in, seemed to be engulfed by those eerily blue eyes. The way the kid clung to the shadows, trying to keep his darting glances hidden beneath the veil of darkness, unsettled Davis.

How does Dean feel about "that" kiss? #HDH with @ellen__cross

Welcome to another lifesaving edition of Hump Day Hook--the weekly blog that offers up a small teaser from the amazingly talented, participating authors for you to enjoy!

Don't forget to click the HDH banner to keep your mid-week relief going!

This week I will continue with Dean's first kiss--and other first bodily reactions--in Holly's Healing.
This scene is from Deans POV.

Wade was at her side, nuzzling and kissing her neck in nibbling bites. The sight stirred his belly further, a throbbing beat building within his gut low down. He could feel it—his cock was throbbing and starting to stir. The knowledge was enough to send Dean backward, landing on the polished timber flooring on his ass.
“Just a kiss…you said this was just a kiss!”
Holly opened her eyes, her heavy-lidded gaze drawing him in, the urge to gather her in his arms rising more urgently.
“It is. Wade just wanted a kiss too. Nothing more will happen today, or anytime soon. This is all up to you. I won’t push you into something you don’t want.”

#MySexySaturday brings a little Cupid's Revenge to brighten your weekend. @ellen__cross

Welcome to another awesome weekend, and you know what that brings...My Sexy Saturday blog hop!!

This week I will be spreading a little Cupid's Revenge for you all.
When you finish, why not click on the banner below to keep on experiencing more of what My Sexy Saturday has to offer from the other amazing authors?
As my snippet this week contains quite a large paragraph, I have chosen not to count paragraphs or sentences. In this scene, Lillah is confronting Liam over his opinion of Ethan.

“Remember, while you only need to bring one couple together, we can’t tell you which one, so you will have
to figure that out by yourselves. Now, as this is a team effort and the repair bill from your efforts yesterday is enough to make our finance department cringe, I suggest you go back to your room, grab that gorgeous boy with both hands, and start working like a team.”

Liam shook his head and sighed. “I can’t work with him. I left him in his undies, watching cartoons. There is no way that boy is right in the head. At his age, he should be working like a man, not sitting around like a kid.”

Lillah frowned at him. “And who are you to judge? That boy is a practically a saint in the making. You should be grateful that he deems you worthy of his time. He also does more good in a single day than you have done in your whole life. She shot him a disgusted look. “Want to know what he does? While you spend your days sitting behind a desk, tapping away at your computer and trying to figure out ways to squeeze more money out of large corporations, Ethan spends his days helping out at the free community day-care centre around the corner from where he lives. He spends his days bringing a little happiness into the lives of kids who have it tough. Kids who don’t have shoes or clothes to wear, or enough food at home to eat, while their desperate parents try and make what meagre earnings they can scrubbing toilets and whatever other jobs they can manage to get. Some of those parents are working two or three jobs each, just to keep a roof over their heads. He devotes all his time to building up the children’s self-esteem, teaching them, loving them, and being the safe harbor they need while everything else in their lives goes to crap. And you wonder why he loves superheros. To those kids, he is a superhero! He’s the superhero to them now that he needed and never got as a kid.”
With her angry words hanging in the air, Lillah stalked off, leaving him with more questions, and a sick feeling stirring in his gut.

Hump Day Hook, up the sizzle, with another peak into Holly's Healing with @ellen__cross #HDH

Just when the mid-week slump was starting to slow you down...the Hump Day Hook weekly blog saves the day with another round of highly addictive temptations!
Why not join with me in sharing the small snippets on offer from the many extremely talented authors, who share with us each week?
After you finish my little tasty tidbit, click on the Hump Day Hook Banner, to navigate to many more!

This week I share another sizzling temptation from my interracial ménage, Holly's Healing.
I don't think I need to set the scene with this one, it speaks for itself :)

A warm hand on his shoulder squeezed the tightly clenched muscles, making him realise just how stiffly he held his whole body. The reassurance that Wade was there with him lifted a huge weight off his chest. Relaxing his body, Dean leant in closer to Holly, wrapping his arms around her back as her tender kisses fuelled the fire within the pit of his stomach further. God, the feeling was unbelievable. How could a simple kiss stir such feeling within him? Was this what it was meant to feel like? Was this why teenagers around the world remained glued to each other’s faces constantly, regardless of who was watching?

Holly's Healing is available at EXtasy Books, and where all good ebooks are sold.
